About UsWe are situated in South Australia in the region of Lower North, we own and run our business of Free Range egg production and cereal production. Our love of cattle dogs led to the establishment of our Australian Cattle Dog Kennel Janannie in 1990. The first litter born were registered under my parents kennel prefix of "Godoton" which was actually a Rottweiler kennel who had several English imports at that stage. As a result of that first litter Ben Godoton Blue Image became our first homebred champion and so the bug had bitten. Our first bitches were purchased from Ruth Hessenberger of Lanbart Kennels this started a friendship which is still strong now. We have had help and support from Phil Morison of "Binshaw Kennels" and on going help and frienship from Colin and Gail Arkell of "Itsozi Kennels". The Stumpy tails had a completely different beginning, when we were trying to decide whether to breed Australian Cattle Dogs or Stumpy Tail Cattle dogs Stumpies were at the very beginning of being accepted as a breed again. We were unable to get ourselves started so we went with the long tails. It was a fluke but we had a grade A bitch offered to us in 1997 her name Cattlemaster Gypsy a blue bitch from Ross Pollitt, then the problem was where to find a suitable dog. Right through this period we have had and raised two children Angus and Lachlan and built our business, so life has been very busy and rewarding but now with the boys growing up we finally have a little more freedom and time to devote to our dogs. The introduction of DNA testing for PRA has now given us a little more certainty in what we are breeding with, even though we have had the dogs regularly eye screened in the past. All our current breeding stock have been DNA tested and HD scored. We look forward to many more years of breeding our favourite dogs the Australian Cattle Dog and the Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog in conjunction with Tangara Kennels owned by Kate and Graeme Lewis. |
